A weird few days! The winner gets booted for racism, Mark Sutherns returns, we don't know if the Manchester clubs will even start in GW1 and Covid still lurks! Yep I had a decent season, 13k OR with 22 hits (88pts) and shedloads of mistakes, can I do better? I'd like to think so but I'm afraid us mere mortals do tend to follow a goodish season with an absolute disaster, over-confidence? Let's not be over-confident then.  Game not open yet, fixtures due next week but a few prices already dripped-out... Mo 12 - Nice Kev 11.5 - Very nice Raz - 11.5 - Fair Pope - 5.5 - No thanks but deserved. |

In fact with all the festivals you go to you've done really well to remain competitive at all, I've no such excuse. I do suspect it's getting harder though, with all the info & 'expertise' easily available. |

I had pencilled-in Mo, Kev & Bruno at 36m, they're actually 34m!  Nice trio, all on pens and if my sums are right, should still leave enough after an expected Trent 8 for a nice medium somewhere in attack, so shouldn't need too many cheapo punty spots. |

Right now, Mo, Kev & Bruno look the underpriced value, the rest look right.

I reckon 34.5 for a decent enough def/gk set-up with Trent (as long as he's 8 max!)
Add the Holy Trinity for a tasty 34 and a 4.5 sub gets 73. So, 27 left for 4 attackers? Armstrong if he's 5.5 leaves 21.5 for 3? Mitro & Wood should be 13, 8.5 for medium? Ings (or Ziyech?)!
That would be a solid XV for 100. 3 nice caps, Ings & Trent makes make a lovely 5. Are they being too kind with the prices? I'm not normally this happy before the start, maybe they'll bump the 6.5 attackers up to 7 this season, squeeze us a bit, this looks too easy.

Vardy - 10 - (LEI instagram!) Fair, one to hop onto if they're up to speed, all fit etc etc
Soucek - 5 - Now he looks a half to a mill too cheap, challenging the Armstrong spot! Arguably a great 8th bencher but he maybe too good for that? Very nice price, cracking enabler.

Pablo Hernandez - Midfielder - £6.0m
Timo Werner - Forward - £9.5m
Jordan Ayew - Forward - £6.0m
Timo looks the standout there, could easily have been 10/10.5...
The rest look okay, maybe Lala priced a half too much given Potter's neverending ruddy tinkering, more of a 6.

Adama Traore at 6.5. Feels a bit full considering he's not nailed and Nuno hasn't really got it right with him consistently. More of a 6 but with obvious upside.

Pulisic got 8.0 then they pulled it and gave him 8.5! Still a nice price mind, arguably a 9/9.5 on potential to be a Son etc, in that ballpark.
Ings & Wood solidly priced at 8.5 & 6.5 respectively. Ings maybe half too cheap but it was expected given Saints aren't a top club and he has had a history of injuries. Wood bang on the money, decent value too if he can keep injury free and hit his xG, ie stop missing sitters.
Can you fit Trent, Mo, Kev, Bruno & Timo in? I don't think you should be able to but I reckon you can, if Trent's 8 or less.

So it's open, they stopped messing about. Thing is there was no reason to delay, FanTeam has been open for a bit now, don't need fixtures yet, they'll come by end of week.
Prices generally kind, especially Pool defence, Tony M & Jim. Can get a really nice looking side with very few punts. Have they been too generous? Maybe but making it easy to get a nice side doesn't make it easy to do well from the off, good for a dead team mind!

Early thoughts?
Keepers - Not too bad @4.5, Ryan, McCarthy & Meslier look the best to try to crack 150.
Defenders - Trent looks too cheap @7.5 and there's a plethora of decent looking 4.5's to keep costs down. Vinagre, Ayling/Dallas, any Burnley FB and even KWP. Could be the odd 4m too but need to look into that.
Midfielders - Mo & Kev stand-out, then Bruno, but he is a tad trickier due to Rash & Tony's better pricing. Aubs is a heavy 12 but if he's CF then he's a great option too. A nailed Greenwood would be a gift @7.5 so let's see if Utd don't/can't get a better RW. The Chelski guys are priced well, see how they settle with Werner up top. Madders will go unnoticed @7, nice price for a good player. Armstrong looks better than JWP for half less but Soucek looks the enabler of choice for just 5. 4.5's look grim but Gordon shines, attacker too, not a DM.
Forwards - An area losing its shine yet holds so much value this season. Tony, Jim & Ings for 26m? 600pts? The question here is can Tony be capped? I'd argue he can and I'd go as far as saying he's the best value Utd 'attacker' of them all at 9m, pound for pound. Werner 9.5 looks good too if he settles. Some nice value lower down too, Mitro @6 looks a half too cheap and Wood of course a nice 6.5m. Adams may tempt too @6. Everton pricing looks all wrong though! Hard to sell Rich @8 and DCL @7, unless they play Fulham straight off...
Strategy? Wait to see the fixtures and see if the Manchester clubs blank due to Europe, but generally speaking I see value in a 3-4-3, with a good front 3.
